What each host really costs over time

Hostinger is cheaper over four years because its intro price is lower and lasts 48 months instead of 36. Bluehost’s renewal rate is $1 a month lower, but you start paying it a full year sooner.

These totals assume you prepay the longest intro term, which is how both hosts advertise their lowest price. Pay monthly or yearly and both cost noticeably more (Bluehost Starter is $11.99/mo on a 12-month term).

Watch the add-ons. Bluehost’s checkout offers paid extras such as SEO tools, SiteLock and CodeGuard (from $2.99/mo each) and domain privacy. Email is also extra after the first month. If you need a business email address, Hostinger’s mailboxes are free for the first year and then cost $0.59 a month each, against $2.99 a month at Bluehost.

• Bluehost lets you run 10 WordPress sites on its cheapest plan, and offers phone support from the Business plan up.

Speed and uptime

Hostinger was faster in independent testing. Website Builder Expert measured US server response times of about 0.33 seconds for Hostinger and 0.58 seconds for Bluehost in January 2026. Both are acceptable for a typical small site; the gap matters more for stores and busy blogs. Bluehost advertises a 99.99% uptime guarantee.

Support

Bluehost is the better pick if you want to talk to someone on the phone. Bluehost offers 24/7 live chat and phone support, though phone support starts at the Business plan. Hostinger supports customers through live chat and email, with no phone line.

Who should choose Bluehost

• You want to run 4 to 10 small websites on the cheapest plan.
• You prefer phone support and are happy to pay for the Business plan to get it.
• You’d rather commit for 3 years than 4.
